With such a rich history in the surrounding district, the Château makes an excellent base for a group Treasure Hunt. We can devise a great day out, in which competing teams follow clues, find answers and fill in the boxes – all in time for afternoon tea! It is a great way to get to know the area and enormous fun as well.
On a smaller scale, the grounds of the Château provide the opportunity for treasure-hunting on foot. Again, the clues are provided – all you need is your Sherlock Holmes hat and magnifying glass and you are away.
In addition to group events, we have a small number of treasure hunts that can simply be used by one couple or family, as a way to enjoy the area and have added focus and excitement along the way.
The recent development of Geodashing and Geocaching has brought a new, and high-tech spin to the traditional Treasure Hunt. Geocaching takes treasure hunting one step further by using GPS units to located hidden treasures. The name of the game is a combination of “Geo” from geography and “Caching” from the action of hiding the cache (or treasure). The term cache is commonly used among hikers and campers to refer to a hidden supply of food or other provisions. Geocaching is also referred to as GPS Stash Hunt. Anyone armed with a GPS unit and a sense of adventure can play.
Geodashing is more of a ‘point to point’ based on the same technology.
We have deposited clues that can only be found by GPS around the countryside to form the base for this exciting new sport.
