The previous owner of the Château was a keen and successful competitive show jumper. He had constructed at no little expense a large, professional outdoor manège. The manège has floodlighting, enabling it to be used late into the evening during the shorter days of spring and autumn. Although the three original loose boxes now serve alternative purposes, there is a tack room and one small stable, if required, as well as an enclosed paddock.

We are pleased to offer use of these facilities to our horse-owning visitors who might not ordinarily have easy access to a sand school, or who like the idea of vacationing with their horses. There are plenty of routes for hacking across country from the Chateau, as well as the long canal banks and a good gallop alongside the Chateau (the route of a long ago dismantled railway line, now comprehensively green). Naturally, owners use all facilities at their own risk, and we require you to carry all appropriate insurance.
Owners are required to be self-sufficient in looking after their animals during their stay, as we do not have the necessary expertise in-house. There are good local suppliers of foodstuffs, bedding, tack etc to facilitate this.
We very much enjoy having horses and riding activity as part of the Chateau scene, even though we do not participate ourselves. You can be sure of a warm welcome.
