Peter and Linda are both classic car lovers. Linda worked selling Porsches for some years, both for AFN and Nick Faure, the well-known Porsche specialist and race driver (and visitor to the Chateau). She raced a vintage Aston Martin Le Mans, and has owned two E-Type Jaguars and six Porsches. Having sold her immaculate Mk1 ‘Frogeye’ Austin-Healey Sprite, she is now the owner of a 4 litre, manual transmission Jaguar XJS.
Peter has had a long string of classic cars, including Riley RME, MGA Coupe, Dellow hillclimber, Alvis TE21, Bristol 411 mks 3 and 4, Aston DB-V8 (two), Maserati Merak, TR3, TR4, TR6, several MGB’s, Maserati Quattroporte III, Maserati Bi-Turbo, Lancia Gamma, Lancia MonteCarlo, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III long wheelbase, Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, Jaguar Mk 7, Jaguar Mk II, Daimler Mk II, Jaguar XK-140 Coupe, Rover P5B, Mercedes 500SEC, Mercedes 450SLC, Mercedes 280CE, Volvo P1800S, Saab 900 Turbo Convertible etc. (obviously this man finds it hard to choose . . .!).
Anyway, be your much loved classic a Morris Minor or a Bugatti Royale, we share your passion for such vehicles and welcome classic car owners at any time. We are ideally placed as a first stopping-off point after classic car enthusiasts have crossed the channel or a last port of call prior to crossing back to England. You can be sure of an enthusiastic greeting – and lots of interest in your pride and joy! The pictures show some of the cars we have owned in recent times (except for the Moggy, which belongs to friends and in which they brought over a ride-on mower! ), however only the Cadillac Seville is still with us.
